Hello! My name is Rob.
As a therapist, my goal is to support you on your journey of living the life you want to live and becoming the person you want to become. I value authenticity, connection, and compassion, so it’s important to me that we create a space where you feel that you can completely be yourself, without judgment, as we work together to identify, clarify, and ultimately achieve your goals. Clients I see tend to experience difficulties related to mood and anxiety or are seeking coping skills to navigate stress and the complexities of life.
Over my seven years in the mental health field, I have developed a special interest and expertise working with male youth (ages 15-24 years) and adult males who are seeking support to deal with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, and identity development. Outside of my private practice, I am a social worker and psychotherapist in the Mood and Anxiety Program at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. When I’m not working, you can find me playing video games (RPGs!), reading, browsing vinyl, trying to learn new skills, and learning how to play curling.
My work history includes adolescent psychiatry, community and hospital-based addiction treatment, and forensic mental health. My approach to therapy is integrative and largely draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I have also completed trainings in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).
I’m a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I participate regularly in training, workshops, consultation groups, and receive clinical supervision as part of my commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
